Art Gallery Voûte
An independent contemporary art gallery in Schiedam, a short trip from Rotterdam.
Art Gallery Voûte is a contemporary art gallery in Schiedam, a short trip from Rotterdam, founded in 1994 by Edwin Voûte. The gallery shows around 50 painters, sculptors and photographers, specialises in bronze sculpture, and is open every weekend from 13:00 to 17:00, or by appointment.
About Art Gallery Voûte
Edwin Voûte founded the gallery in Rotterdam in 1994, moving it to its current home in Schiedam's historic centre in 2001. The gallery describes its own outlook as independent and international in orientation, with a focus on quality over any single style or movement. Edwin's background in law and tax also informs the advice the gallery gives collectors on the legal and fiscal side of buying art.
What art does the gallery show?
The gallery represents roughly 50 established and emerging artists working in painting, sculpture and photography, with a particular focus on high-quality bronze sculpture. It organises group exhibitions roughly every two months, giving the collection at Lange Nieuwstraat 191 a rotating cast of work rather than a fixed permanent display.
Holland Art Expo: taking Dutch art abroad
Alongside its Schiedam base, the gallery runs Holland Art Expo, its own initiative to promote Dutch artists on the international stage. Past editions have been held in Dubai, Doha, Mandelieu-la-Napoule in France, Ibiza and London, drawing on the gallery's international network of contacts to place Dutch work in front of new audiences abroad.
